FEAP 5: Diversity

PreProfessional: The preprofessional media specialist establishes a comfortable environment which accepts and fosters diversity. The media specialist must demonstrate knowledge and awareness of varied cultures and linguistic backgrounds. The media specialist creates a climate of openness, inquiry, and support by practicing strategies such as acceptance, tolerance, resolution, and mediation.

Evidence 2	EME 6706	Fosters a media center in which all students are treated equally. Provides resources and services that meet the needs of diverse students and faculty using a media center. Evidence 3	EME 5208	Analyzes and uses the resources from different schools in instructional activities.	Visit a school to observe and analyze the video studio and taping of a school news show. Record visitation by producing a video tape or photographs and completing a visitation form.
