NOTE:EME 6805 (Classification & Cataloging) deals with subject matter that is totally electronic in content, format and delivery. As a result media specialist are expected to have multiple technology skills as well as an indepth understanding of cataloging procedures and MARC records.

To show the online course design, specific
technologies integrated into the course, and comprehensive content within Modules used to accomplish this task, Evidence 2 is presented through several modules. The intent is to demonstrate the use of sound online pedagogy and principles of Web design as well as to
- Demonstrate the value of using course functions and features as a model for integrating current and emerging technologies as identified in the US Dept. of Ed Educational Plan 2004 into a media center and
- Track student work through three modules that use multiple online course functions and features for assignment enrichment and show the blended use of integrated technology and subject matter content.

Module 1: Demonstrate the value of using course functions and features as a model for integrating current and emerging technologies into a media center.
Module 1: Review, explore
and practice using functions and features provided in course and WebCt. Become familiar with course functions by reviewing tutorials: Chat, Discussion, WebCt Mail. Become familiar with graphics and special features (Graphic Organizer and Class Album) used in course. Produce and post a discussion message. Use course e-mail to send a message. Attach and send a digital photograph.

Modules 2 & 3: Track student work through two modules that use multiple online course functions and features for assignment enrichment and show the blended use of integrated technology and subject matter content.
Module 2:Visit media center and use OPAC to find print/electronic resources. Visit SUNLINK Web site to view MARC record. Use Virtual Book/Resource Room to check comprehension. Complete OPAC survey about media center automation system.
Expand use of Discussion to evaluate a patron display.
